Diamond Direct Destinations

Terms and conditions

Please read before booking. By signing a rental agreement you accept these terms.

Effective November 5, 2026. Draft for attorney review before use.

1. Who we are

These terms apply to vehicle rentals from Diamond Direct Destinations, in Florida.

2. Renter requirements

Every renter and authorized driver must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, show government photo ID, provide proof of personal auto insurance, and sign the rental agreement before taking the vehicle. We may refuse a rental if documents cannot be verified.

3. Authorized drivers

Only the renter and drivers listed on the rental agreement may drive. Each additional driver must meet the same requirements and pay a fee of $50 per rental. A maximum of two additional drivers may be added, for a total of $100. You are responsible for anyone you allow to drive.

4. Rental period and late returns

In these terms, “pickup” means the scheduled time and place where we deliver the vehicle to you or hand it over.

Rental days are 24-hour periods from your pickup time. Return the vehicle by the return time on your rental agreement. We allow a 30-minute grace period with no charge.

After the grace period, each hour or part of an hour is charged at 25% of the vehicle’s daily rate on your rental agreement. For any one day, these hourly charges never exceed that day’s full rate. If the vehicle is more than 24 hours late, each additional 24-hour period or part of one is charged at the full daily rate. For example, at $250 per day, one hour late is $62.50, three hours late is $187.50, four to 24 hours late is $250, and 26 hours late is $500. We charge no separate late fee.

Until we inspect and accept the vehicle, you remain responsible for it, including after-hours returns. To keep the vehicle longer, ask us before your return time. Approved extensions are charged at the daily rate.

5. Booking fee, deposit and card authorization

A credit card in the renter’s name is required for the booking fee, the security deposit and all charges. Debit cards, prepaid cards, cash and payment apps are not accepted. A booking fee of 25% of the rental total is due to reserve your vehicle and is applied to your rental total at pickup. If you cancel 24 hours or more before your scheduled pickup, the booking fee is refunded. If you cancel less than 24 hours before pickup or do not show up, the booking fee is forfeited. See our refund policy. The remaining balance is due in full on the day of pickup, before the vehicle is released. At pickup we place a refundable security deposit of $1,000 on your card. You authorize us to hold the security deposit and to charge your card on file for the rental total and any amounts owed under these terms. See Payment and Refund policy.

6. Fuel and mileage

Return the vehicle with at least as much fuel as at pickup, or we charge the missing fuel at the pump price plus a $25 service fee. Mileage is capped at 200 miles per day, totaled across the whole rental. Miles over the cap are charged at $2 per mile. All vehicles are GPS monitored, and we use GPS data and odometer readings to verify mileage.

7. Prohibited use

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Smoking or vaping ($250 fee)
  • Racing, off-road driving, towing or commercial use for hire
  • Letting an unauthorized person drive
  • Carrying more passengers than the vehicle’s seat count

8. Vehicle condition, damage and responsibility

Condition report. Before you take the vehicle, you and we complete the vehicle condition report with photos of every side, the interior, the odometer and the fuel gauge. Note any existing damage on it. Damage not noted is treated as occurring during your rental. We repeat the inspection when you return the vehicle.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle and its equipment during the rental, whether or not it was your fault, up to the full cost of repair or replacement. Normal wear and tear is not charged. Covered damage includes, without limit:

  • Exterior: dents, scratches, paint damage, bumpers, mirrors, lights, and wheel or rim damage such as curb rash
  • Glass: windshield, windows, sunroof and rear glass, including chips and cracks
  • Tires: punctures, sidewall damage, and lost or stolen tires and spare
  • Interior: stains, tears, burns, odors, pet hair and damage to leather, carpet and the headliner
  • Electronics: rear-seat TVs, the infotainment screen, chargers and cables
  • Mechanical misuse: wrong fuel, ignoring warning lights, overheating, and driving through flood water
  • Lost, stolen or damaged keys and fobs, with a replacement charge of $250
  • Theft or loss of the vehicle or any part of it
  • Towing, storage and impound costs

Fixed fees. Smoking or vaping: $250. Heavy cleaning: $150. Claim handling and administrative fee, per incident: $75.

The smoking fee covers odor removal and cleanup of ash and residue. The heavy cleaning fee covers spills, stains, food, pet hair and mud. These fees are separate, and both apply if both occur. Damage that cleaning cannot fix, such as burns, tears or permanent stains, is charged at the repair cost.

Other costs. You also pay for the income we lose while the vehicle is out of service for repair (loss of use), any reduction in the vehicle’s value after serious damage (diminished value), and any insurance deductible we pay because of your rental.

Reporting. Report any accident, damage or theft to us immediately at (754) 280-4068, and in every case before you return the vehicle. File a police report for any accident or theft.

Charges. We send you an itemized invoice with a repair estimate or receipt. We apply your security deposit first, then charge the card on file for any balance. By signing the rental agreement you authorize these charges.

9. Insurance and liability

You must keep valid personal auto insurance that covers rental vehicles throughout the rental.

10. Tolls, tickets and fees

You pay all tolls, parking and traffic violations, towing, storage and impound fees incurred during the rental, plus an administrative fee of $25 for each one we process. A Florida rental car surcharge of $2 per day, up to 30 days, applies where required by law.

11. Accidents and breakdowns

Call us at once at (754) 280-4068, call 911 if anyone is hurt, and file a police report for any accident. Do not admit fault. You must cooperate with our insurer’s investigation.

12. Recovery of the vehicle

We may end the rental and recover the vehicle without notice if you breach these terms, abandon the vehicle or use it unlawfully. You are responsible for recovery costs.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Florida law. Disputes will be heard in the state or county courts in Broward County, Miami-Dade County or Palm Beach County, Florida.
